An indoor ride designed to provide you with the optimum in fat burning, endurance, and strength building. This ride will simulate varied terrain as you tackle rolling hills, sprints, and other drills to give you a great interval workout to awesome music! Experience general level classes in the Wu Dong style of Tai Chi Chuan. Each class will start with a warm up designed to strengthen and stretch the body, followed by short exercises in Qi Gong. These exercises help to develop the deeper meditative side of Tai Chi. Footwork, balance, and coordination are developed by practicing the four basic stances of Chinese martial arts and the practice of walking Qi Gong. Will also do work with the form and push hands. Experience the many benefits of yoga including increased flexibility, vitality and inner peace as you are guided through a flow of movements and yoga postures (asanas). Yoga practices will incorporate balance, alignment, toning and breath work (pranayama) as well as inspirational mantras and meditations in a nurturing environment. Please bring a mat to class. Zumba Gold is a series of fitness programs specifically designed to take the exciting Latin and international dance rhythms to the active older adult. It is easy to follow so everyone any age can do it and includes Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha, Cumbia, Belly Dance, Flamenco, Tango, and Rock and Roll. This program is guaranteed to provide you with a safe and effective total body workout! It's great for the mind, body, and soul. Same great music and moves, but a little slower pace and more time teaching the steps. Everyone in the county is welcome regardless of your fitness needs. Noodles, aqua belts, and all kinds of toys are used in this program. Students will experience aerobic and anaerobic activity while targeting all the muscles groups. This course is designed to increase the student's strength, energy, and endurance. Aqua yoga combines power, traditional yoga postures, fluid movements, and key breathing techniques. The physical and stress reducing benefits of aqua yoga are practiced using the buoyancy and resistance of water to provide a continuous aerobic and strength workout. This course provides a powerful mind and body workout that can be customized to suit all athletic abilities and fitness goals. Tuition: $75. Fee: $25. Call 443-412-2113.
Known as the Zumba "pool party," Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting - even shouting, laughing, hooting, and hollering - are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief. Aqua Zumba uses mostly Latin music rhythms such as Merengue, Cumbia, Salsa, and Reggaeton, but can also use a variety of upbeat tempos as found in international music. Because of the resistance of the water, Zumba movements will be slower and adjusted to the water environment; however, the workout can be just as intense. Water shoes are needed for this class. Exercise done in water offers a multitude of benefits. Aquacise provides buoyancy, taking away impact on bones, joints, and muscles allowing you to work harder for longer, burning more fat and calories than your average land exercise. Exercises will range from basic aerobics to resistance training to kickboxing or even tai chi. Water aerobics can be a pleasurable experience. These aerobic exercises are designed specifically for water and they provide benefits such as body toning, muscle flexibility, and improvement to the cardiovascular system.
