Redd Named Md Juco Player of the Month

For the second time this season, Harford's Dahnye Redd has been named Maryland JUCO Women's Basketball Player of the Month for December.

Redd carried her strong start to the season into December, tallying eight double-doubles to give her 17 for the year. Over those eight contests, she averaged 22.1 points per game, 13.6 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 1.6 assists per game. She scored 20 or more points in five of eight games, including three with more than 30 points.

The Harford forward has been even better against conference opposition, seeing increases in scoring (26.0 ppg.), rebounding (16.8 rbg.), and field goal percentage (65.3%).

Nationally, Redd leads all NJCAA Div. I players in rebounding at 15.4 per game. The Pennsylvania native is also tied for third in the nation in scoring at 23.2 points per game.

Redd and the Fighting Owls return to the court tonight when they travel to Cecil College for a showdown with the Seahawks.
